Seven days here tends to produce a particular kind of reset. Not because of any single thing — it's the accumulation. The forest at dawn with someone who was born in it. A deserted beach you reached by boat. A meal cooked on a wood fire with ingredients foraged that morning. The Mamangua fjord from the summit rock. Shared evenings with a small group of people who were strangers a few days earlier.

A private boat trip through Paraty Bay — 65 islands, dense Atlantic rainforest, and beaches accessible only by boat. Swimming, stillness and sea. The route adjusts to the conditions and the group. No fixed destination.

ITINERARY
DAY 1
Arrive and settle in. Welcome drink and introductions. A guided journey through Paraty's historic cobbled streets with their 300 years of stories. Shared evening meal as a group.
DAY 3
Optional morning yoga, meditation or exercise on the beach. Breakfast. Jeep to Taquari for deep biodiversity exploration with Paraty's most celebrated forager. Lunch cooked on a wood fire with ingredients sourced directly from forest and organic farm. Afternoon free time and rest. Shared evening meal.
DAY 5
Optional morning yoga, meditation or exercise on the beach. Breakfast. Full day by private boat exploring secluded tropical islands and deserted beaches. Swimming, stillness and sea. Afternoon free time and rest. Shared evening meal.
DAY 7
Morning Stretching and Light exercise on beach: Breakfast. Free time or transport to onward flights or destinations
DAY 2
Morning in the Atlantic Forest with Jungle Man Luis — local guide, born in the forest, who brings the rainforest alive like no one else. Sound bathing in a rainforest clearing. Jeep to the trailhead for the hike to Praia do Sono — one of Brazil's most beautiful beaches — with the option to continue to the wilder Ponta Negra. Speedboat back. Free time, rest and restoration. Shared evening meal. Optional fire gazing.
DAY 4
Optional morning yoga, meditation or exercise on the beach. Breakfast. Speedboat into the Mamangua fjord — one of Brazil's most extraordinary landscapes — and hike to the summit rock for a view that stays with you. Lunch in Mamangua village. Afternoon free time and rest. Shared evening meal.
DAY 6
A morning at Luis da Mata's eco farm, deep in the Atlantic Forest, with sound bathing among ancient trees. Farm breakfast. Jeep to Bar do Ademar for one of the region's most breathtaking viewpoints. Afternoon free time and rest. Shared evening meal.

Jabaquara Beach, Paraty
The Elemental Retreat is based in private beachfront villas on Jabaquara beach — one of Paraty's most loved stretches of coastline, consistently five-star reviewed. Each villa has its own pool and direct access to the beach. The Atlantic Ocean in front of you. The Atlantic Forest at the end of the beach and covering the mountains in the distance.
This is not a hotel. It's a home for the week — and the setting does half the work of the retreat before you've even left the terrace.

I first visited in 2002 and ended up living in Brazil for several years. Since then I've returned every year and built a deep network of local friends, guides and people who know this landscape better than anyone. This year I'm bringing a long-standing idea to life — two small Elemental Retreats in Paraty.
